Sometimes You Need to Throw Something!

Bishop ChippThat’s right, “Sometimes you have to throw something!” Sometimes you even need to throw something at God! I’m not talking about having a “temper tantrum!” I am not talking about throwing something and dis-honoring God, but rather, honoring God. The Bible teaches us that sometimes it is necessary to throw some things to live victorious in life! There are times we need to throw something.

…and a time to cast away; -Ecclesiastes 3:6 (KJV)

The word cast means to throw, hurl, or fling. I believe the word throw (cast) speaks of the force of faith with which we act! So please keep this in mind as we look at some times when we need to throw something:

1. When you face worry and anxieties.

When you find yourself with worry and anxiety, its time to through something! It’s time to throw your care on God!

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. – 1 Peter 5:5-7

We learn to throw our worry or anxieties on God throw prayer and thanksgiving.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6-7

2. When you need a healing miracle.

Bartimaeus, who was blind, threw away his beggars coat to get to Jesus and receive his miracle of healing. When he threw off his beggars coat, he was throwing off his beggars identity! It takes faith to throw something in the spirit realm. Bartimaeous threw his beggar coat before he received his sight. He had to throw off an old midset.

And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.  -Mark 10:50-52

3. When you need a financial harvest.

The kingdom of God operates on the seed principle. learn to throw (cast) seed into the ground and expect a harvest.

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.  -Mark 12:41-44

Jesus himself observed the sacrificial giving of the widow woman, who cast into the offering plate all she had, and it became a memorial to her for all eternity!

And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much. and there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing. And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury: For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.  -Mark 4:26-29

I believe the word throwing (casting) speaks of the force of faith with which we act! Even as David needed to throw something to defeat his giant (he hurled a stone using his slang); grab hold to a nugget of truth from God’s word, and throw it with the force of faith at your giant, and trust God to give you the victory! 1 Samuel 17:49. To celebrate Christmas and the New Year with joy; in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, you may need to throw off worry, and some works of darkness (bad habits, etc.) to honor God and enjoy His blessings. -Romans 13:12. I pray I have helped to strengthen your spiritual throwing arm. So by faith, let it rip!
